6. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 11 of the Teralisation Principal Ordinance, the active service of the Reserve shall service. be deemed to have ended on the 1st January, 1942.

7. The marginal note to Section 7 is deleted and the Amendment following marginal note substituted :-

Appointment, promotion, dismissal and compul- sory retirement of officers and other members.

The following subsections are added to Section 7 of the Principal Ordinance :-

(4) The Governor may require a Deputy Commis- sioner, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent to retire from the Reserve if it appears to him that such a person is unable to discharge efficiently the duties which he is or may be called upon to perforin as a member of the Reserve.

(5) If it appears to the Commissioner that a sub- ordinate officer or constable is unable to discharge effi- ciently the duties which he is or may be called upon to perform as a member of the Reserve, the Commissioner may require anch person to retire from the Reserve.
