By His Excellency Sir GEOFFEY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.

WHEREAS by Section 2 of the Queen Victoria Street Eastward Reclamation and Piers Ordinance, No. 13 of 1939, the Director of Public Works was authorized provisionally, and subject to the definitive approval of the Governor in Council, to construct the undertakings described in the Schedule hereto annexed consisting of the reclamation or other works of å public nature over and upon unleased Crown foreshore and sea bed:

AND WHEREAS Section 5 of the Public Reclamations Validation and Clauses Ordinance, No. 40 of 1936, requires a notification of every such undertaking to be published by proclamation in the Chinese language:

Now I, the said Sir GeorrRY ÅLEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, in pursuance of Section 5 (1) of Ordinance No. 40 of 1936 do hereby proclaim and notify that it is proposed to construct the undertakings described in the Schedule hereto annexed,

I therefore require any person having any objection to or any claim of private right in respect of the proposed undertakings to send his objection or claim in writing to the Director of Public Works before the expiration of two months from the publication of this proclamation, to state the reasons therefor, and to specify the property with regard to the ownership or occupation of which such objection or claim is mude and the interest therein of the objector or claimant.
