WHEREAS by the Fourth section of the Asiatic Emigration Amendment Ordinance, 1939, Ordinance No. 1 of 1939. it is provided that the said Ordinance shall not come into operation until His Majesty's confirmation of the same shall have been proclaimed in Hong Kong by the Governor :

NOW I, Sir GEOFFRY ÁLKAANder Stafford NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice- Admiral of the same, do hereby PROCLAIM that it is His Majesty's pleasure to confirm the said Ordinance.

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Hong Kong, this eleventh day of May, 1959.
