194. Postal Kiosk at Stanley Village:- Sketch plans were prepared for a kiosk with a public office, clerk's accommodation and strong room. A contract was let to Messrs. Sang Tai & Co., on 26th April and the work was satisfactorily completed on 17th July.

195. New Central British School:- This work was referred to in paragraph 152 of last year's Report. The erection of a Sports Pavilion was carried out by the Cheong Hing Co., and was completed on 18th February. The building contains changing rooms for boys and girls, store rooms for sports equipment and a covered terrace for spectators.

196. Installation of telephones, etc. in Breezy Point and Arbuthnot Road Quarters, vacated by Prison Department: Minor alterations were carried out in Arbuthnot Road Quarters to provide accommodation for Police. The work was completed in December. 135 electric lights, thirty-seven wall sockets, fifteen ceiling fans and wiring for telephones and alarm bells installed.

197. Barbed wire barricades at Sheung Shui, Au Tau, Ping Shan and Sai Kung Police Stations:- This work was referred to in paragraph 193 of last year's Report. The erection of the barricades to Sheung Shui and Sai Kung Police Stations was completed in November.

198. Gaol Clearing Station:- Sketch plans were prepared for alterations to the Administrative Offices, Hospital, Reception Block and "D" Cell Hall of Victoria Gaol in order to provide a Gaol Clearing Station following the occupation of the new Prison at Stanley. The work, which consisted of the provision of a Guard Room, Quarters for European Police Officers and Indian and Chinese Police, was completed in December. Seventy-five electric lights, eight wall sockets and wiring for telephones and alarm bells were installed.
