142. Blake Pier Improvements:-This work was referred to in paragraph 147 of last year's Report. Messrs. Ah Hing & Co. completed their contract for the removal of the defective main and secondary deck girders and for the supply, fabrication and erection of new steelwork to replace that which was removed.

143. Construction of Sea Wall and Cattle Pier at Kennedy Town-This work was referred to in paragraph 145 of last year's Report. No constructional work was carried out during the year. Approximately two acres of reclamation were formed by building debris from the demolition of buildings, and spoil from site formation being dumped free of expense to Government except for the cost of supervision of the dumping operations.

144. Compensation and Resumptions:— Minor widenings and resumptions in connection with development schemes were effected.

145. Resumption of St. Peter's Church, West Point:-In connection with the above final instalments totalling $8,010.99 were paid as the erection of the new Church proceeded. This vote did not appear in the original estimates but was approved later.

ANTI-MALARIAL WORKS.
146. Anti-Malarial Works:-Work was continued by the letting of two new contracts, one for an area between the two reservoirs at Aberdeen, the other in the vicinity of Pokfulam between the Queen Mary Hospital and Sandy Bay. Although these contracts were not let until late in the year good progress was made on preliminary work and excavation, and at Aberdeen area 300 feet of main channel was constructed. A 3,000 gallon reservoir with a "De Villiers" automatic syphon sluice erected near Mount Cameron Road, and minor channelling was laid near Inland Lot No. 2441, Victoria Road.
