335 feet of 10" cast iron main were laid at Lai Chi Kok Water Boat Dock, 70 feet of 14" wrought iron piping were laid near Tsang Fu Villas and 335 feet of 12" cast iron main were taken up at Lai Chi Kok Water Boat Dock.

174. Port Works :-No expenditure was incurred under this head during the year.

175. Kowloon Tsai Development --This work was referred to in paragraph 167 of last year's Report. The Contractor continued cutting and filling to approved levels. A catchwater lined with dry rubble pitching 150 feet long was constructed to connect with the existing 4'-6" diameter circular concrete culvert near Essex Crescent. The contract was completed on 31st May, 1936. The total amount of filling deposited was 1,444,000 cubic yards.

176. Kowloon Walled City-New Village type houses and site formation :-A contract for the formation of thirty-seven building lots to Town Planning levels at Kak Hang was let to Messrs. Woo Hing & Co. in September. This work together with the filling in of a pond near the site to make provision for pig pens was completed in October, 1936.

177. Exhumation of Chinese Cemeteries:-In accordance with the usual programme exhumation of portions of Chinese Cemeteries was carried out.

178. Chinese Cemeteries-laying out new area-After the exhumations referred to in the preceding item these portions of the cemeteries were relevelled and prepared for fresh interments. New areas were also laid out where required.
