Of the total of 87,303.9 cube yards of silt removed during the year, 70,286.95 cube yards were dredged from the foreshores and in maintaining the depth of water within the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, alongside Public Piers and Refuse Boat Piers; 7,125 cube yards were dredged in connection with the excavation of trench for rubble mound at Kun Tong, the latter work was defrayed by Admiralty; whilst 5,131.95 cube yards and 4,760 cube yards were dredged on behalf of the Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock Co., Ltd., and the Taikoo Sugar Refining Co., Ltd., respectively.

63. Stores Depreciation:-The following sums were credited to the vote during the year: $10,509.59 being rebate on Freight Charges on stores purchased in England through the Crown Agents for the Colonies: $1,923.14 being the value of goods issued prior to 1935 and returned to Store.

The adjustment of stores values and reconditioning of old stores amounting to $12,474.64 have been debited to the vote.
