66. Bathing Places:-No structures were erected by Government at Kennedy Town or Repulse Bay. Repulse and Stanley Bay Beaches were opened to the public on 1st May and closed on 1st November.
A contract for the construction of four caretakers' quarters with cookhouse and latrine at the above beaches was let to Messrs. Cheong Kee in October, 1934, and was completed satisfactorily in April.

67. Maintenance of Buildings:-Government Buildings were kept in a good state of repair. Painting, colourwashing and repairs in accordance with the recurring programme were carried out to thirty-three buildings.
Major repairs included the following:-Police Training School-renewed roof trusses and general repairs, Royal Observatory-repairs to pathways, Kowloon Hospital-renewed teak floors in "A" Block and iron guards and grills to Medical Officers Quarters, Ma Tau Kok Cattle Depôt-renewed roof timbers and general repairs, Yaumati Police Station-renewed floors, Blackheads Signal Station-renewed ropes, pulleys, symbols and winch, Tsim Tsa Tsui Police Station-renewed water supply tanks, etc., Kowloon Post Office-external renovation and repairs, Hung Hom Police Station-renewed ceilings, Green Island Gunpowder Depôt-renewed channels, paths, etc.
