# HARBOUR SURVEYING

41. Reference was made to this work in paragraph 38 of last year's Report. About 225 acres were surveyed, reduced and plotted during the year. This area together with previous surveys make a total area of approximately 12,660 acres surveyed on fixed lines. Of this total, 10,900 acres comprise the area within Harbour Limits and 1,760 acres are outside the Western Harbour Limits.

# TOWN PLANNING

42. Town planning work has, in the main, consisted of dealing with small areas, either in conformity with or as amendments and additions to the recommendations of the Town Planning Committee of 1922.

43. During the year possible development schemes were prepared for the following areas:-Morrison Hill, Inland Lot 201, Arsenal Street, Lower Peak Tram Station, Kowloon Tsai, New Post Office and Government Offices at Kowloon, Area at junction of Tai Kok Tsui Road and Chatham Road Boulevard.

# EXPENDITURE

44. The expenditure on Public Works has increased considerably during the last three decades. The average annual expenditure during the years 1906 to 1915 was $2,072,475, from 1916 to 1925 it was $7,547,637, whilst from 1926 to 1935 the average annual expenditure has been $8,207,920.

45. Tables I, II and III at the end of this Report give various comparative statements of expenditure.
