197. Governor's Residence at Fanling-Sketch plans for a building of six rooms were prepared during 1932 for a site at Fanling, but this scheme was subsequently abandoned in favour of an adjoining larger site further away from the main road. Sketch plans were prepared and approved for a building containing on the ground floor a Hall, Living room, Dining room, Office for His Excellency and one Office for the A.D.C. and Private Secretary, with kitchen, etc., and servants' quarters situated at a lower level. The first floor comprises five Bedrooms, Dressing room and Bathrooms. A Garage for 2 cars and Stables of 3 stalls, with quarters, etc., are provided, and a Guard House is situated on the approach road connecting the house with the main road. A contract was let to Messrs. Tung Shan & Co. on 22nd June, 1933, and on 20th December, 1933, a Contract for the Garage, Stables and Guard House was let to the same Contractors. Good progress was made and the main structural work of the house was completed by the end of the year. The foundations to the Garage, Stables and Guard House were laid and the brickwork commenced.

198. Tai O Police Station: Additions. The work consisted of the erection of a storey over the Charge Room and Cells, to provide additional accommodation. The work was completed in July.

200. Drainage :-(a) Training Nullahs.-A small stream-course South-East of the level crossing near Island House, Taipo, was trained for a length of 50 feet, and 261 feet of 30″ x 15″ open channel and 30″ diameter storm water drain in the open space North-East of Lots 930 and 933 Sha Tau Kok were completed.
