whilst the roof, of beam and slab type, is of reinforced concrete carried on reinforced concrete piers. The capacity of the Reservoir is 208,000 gallons at a top water level of 778.00 A.O.D. the average depth of water being 12'-3". The division wall divides the reservoir into two equal halves. The invert is of cement concrete 9" thick and was laid out in bays of 13'-4" × 12' 0" to correspond with the layout of the piers carrying the roof. The valves controlling the inlet, draw-off and washout pipes are enclosed in a valve chamber at the west end of the division wall and an overflow discharges into the stream on the east side.

An indent was prepared and forwarded to the Crown Agents for the turbines and pumps necessary for the first section of this scheme.

143. Sand Washer.-A Peebles portable type sand washer was ordered through the Crown Agents. It has been erected and is giving satisfactory service.

PORT WORKS.

144. Construction of Rubble Mound at North Point.-This work, which was referred to in paragraph 126 of last year's Report, was satisfactorily completed in July, 1933. The total length of seawall constructed was approximately 1,222 linear feet.

145. Construction of Rubble Mound between Oil Street and M.L. 321.-Messrs. Ching Lee & Co. were awarded this contract and commenced work on the 28th June. Good progress was made and at the end of 1933 500 linear feet of sea walling had been built, leaving 100 feet to be constructed to complete the work.

146. Construction of Rubble Mound at Kennedy Town.-A contract was let to Messrs. Tung Shing who commenced work in February. At the end of the year the rubble mound for a length of 450 linear feet had been formed, the total quantity of rubble deposited being 25,300 cubic yards.
