108. Miscellaneous.-The following works were carried out under this head:-Vaccination Sheds-conversion to use as a Street Boys' Club, Kennedy Town Slaughter House- new Store and Drying ground, Kennedy Town Hospital, Sisters' Quarters-new Gas Cooker and Geyser, Severn Road- new pillar box, 157 The Peak-new garage, Victoria Hospital -new telephone box, Pokfulam Path-Matshed Shelter and notice board, Colonial Secretariat-new map case, Law Courts-additional cupboards to Land Office, Victoria Gaol— grilles to Cells, Treasury Office-alterations to counters, St. George's Building-fitting up offices for D.O. South, Colonial Secretariat-matshed roof, Queen's Gardens shoring to Nos. 1 & 2, Old No. 2 Police Station-various improvements, Mounted Infantry Stables-erection of Matsheds, Tai Hang Valley- erection of new wash pans, Mount Gough Police Station— installation of flush system. Improvements and additions to the electrical installations were made in twenty-four buildings; total number of points, one hundred and twenty-seven. Twenty-seven. Seventeen fans, thirty-seven radiators, twenty-three telephones and six bells were installed in eighteen buildings.

109. Water Works:-(a) Miscellaneous.--The following works were carried out under this head:-700 feet of 6" wrought iron piping were laid in Stubbs Road, from Harlech Road to just beyond Peak Mansions, 297 feet of 6" cast iron piping from Shau Ki Wan Road to M.L. 431 and I.L. 2366, 120 feet of 6" cast iron piping in Spring Garden Lane, 108 feet of 6" cast iron piping in Caroline Hill Road, 81 feet of 6" cast iron piping in Leighton Hill Road, 36 feet of 6" cast iron piping to connect the Battery Road and the Pokfulam Road mains, 390 feet of 5" cast iron piping in Kam Wah Street, Shau Ki Wan, 177 feet of 4" cast iron piping in Mong Lung Street, Shau Ki Wan, 395 feet of 3" cast iron piping in Seymour Road, 180 feet of 2" wrought iron piping in Mount Cameron Road. 11 nullah supplies were connected to street standpipes for the purpose of filling Sanitary Department water carts during the threatened water shortage. 600 feet of heavy 3" galvanised wrought iron piping, with victualic joints, were obtained from England to replace the existing 2" submarine pipe from Aberdeen to Ap Lei Chau. As however the old pipe gave good service during the year, the relaying was postponed to 1934.

110. Port Works.-Expenditure incurred under this head was for various notice boards, the erection of a slipway for small boats at Aberdeen and the removal of a portion of Trocas Rocks.
