QUARANTINE.
11. The numbers of animals examined and passed through quarantine during the year were as follows:-
Horses Cattle Dogs 322 90 17612. The above does not include animals imported for slaughter or consigned to the Military Authorities.
13. Imported horses and mules unless accompanied by a satisfactory "Mallein Certificate" are detained until they have passed the "Mallein Test."
14. Other animals are quarantined for varying periods according to their place of origin.

During the year 220 dogs, 4 donkeys and 2 pigs were placed under observation on account of being suspected of being rabid. They were disposed of as follows:-
