107. The quantity of water supplied by meters was as follows:--

These figures show an increase of 282.16 million gallons in the quantity supplied by meters as compared with 1930.
108. New services were constructed or old ones altered, improved, repaired, or connected to the mains to the number of 8,151 and 114 supplies were laid on for building purposes.
109. The number of inspections of services carried out was 20,440. Defective services were found in 297 cases all of which were put in proper repair after usual notices had been served.

Expenditure
110. Maintenance of Water Works, Shaukiwan. From 15th January to 18th February the Village Supply was restricted to fifteen hours daily (6 A.M.-9 P.M.) and from 19th January to 9th April the Water Boat Supply was shut off. Otherwise a constant supply was maintained throughout the year. From 18th August the Sai Wan Ho district was supplied with water from the City through the new 8" main which had just been completed. From that date the Old Shaukiwan Filters and Intakes were permanently closed down. Since 18th August, for consumption purposes, Sai Wan Ho has been considered a part of the City of Victoria.
111. The total consumption of filtered water for the year was 38.29 million gallons which includes 1.98 million gallons supplied to the boat population giving an average of 105,000 gallons per day. An unfiltered supply of 2.36 million gallons was given to the Barracks at Sai Wan, which with the total of the filtered supply stated amounted to 40.65 million gallons or 111,000 gallons per day. The details of the consumption are given in Table VIII.
