(c.) Miscellaneous.-The principal works carried out under this heading were the conversion of the cooking hearths from Chinese to Indian type at the Au Tau, Ping Shan, Castle Peak and Tsün Wan Police Stations; parking areas for Motor Cars at Un Long; construction of a drop wall on the down stream side of the four-span bridge at Kung Ling on the Fan Ling-Sha Tau Kok road; construction of a bund at Wai Tau; repairing the ramp at Tai Po Market; and raising of the path to Un Long School.

(d.) Waterworks.-The following works were carried out under this heading during the year:-
(1.) Extension of Tai Po Water Supply to Kam Shan Village.
(2.) Alterations to the supply to the Land Bailiff's Quarters, Tai Po.
(3.) Miscellaneous minor works.
The details relating to the above were:-
(1.) A length of 550 feet of 3" W.I. pipe was laid in order to give a supply to Kam Shan Village, and a street fountain was fixed.
(2.) Alterations to the Land Bailiff's Quarters supply had to be made to ensure a constant supply throughout the day.

171. New Bridge at Tai Po and Road diversion to replace the Bridge washed away in 1925.-This work was referred to in paragraph 168 (e.) of the Report for last year.
The construction of the embankment and the approach road to the bridge was carried out by Messrs. Chung Lee & Co. and completed by the end of October.
A Contract for the construction of the bridge and the demolition of the old temporary one was let to Messrs. Lam Woo for the sum of $28,207.20 on 7th April.
