168. Anglo-Chinese School, Cheung Chau.-Plans for this school containing six Class Rooms, Masters' Rooms, Caretaker's Quarters, Store, etc., to accommodate 192 pupils were prepared.

Tenders were obtained in November and were under con- sideration at the end of the year.

169. Gardeners' Quarters at Sheung Shui.-These quarters afford accommodation for one married gardener and four other single men, with the usual offices to each set.

A Contract for this work was let to Mr. Tang Tim on 23rd June for the sum of $3,687.35, which was completed by the end of November when the quarters were handed over to the Botanical and Forestry Department.

(a.) Roads. The formation of roads in connection with Lots 875, 876, 877, 830 and 854 at Tai Po Market was carried cut during the year. Macadam was laid on carriageway and tar painted, and the scavenging lanes were treated with granolithic paving.
