159. Chinese Cemeteries,-Laying out new Areas.-The work carried out under this heading has been alluded to in paragraph 32 of this Report.

160. Exhumation at Ma Tau Wei.-Exhumation was considered necessary owing to the close proximity of this locality to the Kowloon Hospital, and the work was carried out by the Sanitary Department.

161. Refuse Dump at Cheung Sha Wan.—This work was referred to in paragraphs 215 of the Report for 1925 and 157 of that for last year.

The requirements of the Sanitary Department as regards provision of covering spoil, etc., were met throughout the year.

A shorter lead was formed to the trench by opening a new cutting face nearer to the dump.

By the end of the year approximately 4.9 acres of ground had been filled in to a level above extreme high water.

162. Filling in Areas at Tong Mi and Kau Lung Tong:-A Contract was let to Messrs. Kien On & Co. on the 26th July, 1927, for filling in the two areas East and West of Tai Po Road for the sum of $30,190.

The progress made during the year was very good, much material being excavated and deposited on the two areas in question which were brought to formation level of the district.
