(c.) Miscellaneous. The undermentioned were the principal works carried out under this heading:-

Hung Hom Police Station,-erection of a dock in the Charge Room. Kowloon Junior School,-alterations to the latrines. Cooke Street Latrine,-rebuilding of an end wall which was in a dangerous condition was commenced. Formation of K.I.L's. 1815, 1816 and 1818, and adjacent road.

(d.) Waterworks.-The undermentioned were carried out under this heading during the year:-

(a.) Additional street fountains.

(b.) Pedestal Hydrants.

(c.) Miscellaneous minor works.

Briefly the explanation for the above is as follows:-

(a.) These were additional street fountains for newly developed district.

(b.) Thirteen new pedestal fire hydrants were installed.

(c.) These were several works of minor importance.

(e.) Port Works.-These works were referred to in Annexe L under 'Miscellaneous' at page 167 of last year's Report.

Only minor works such as investigations to ascertain the nature of foundations of contemplated works were carried out during the year.

139. Roads:-

(a) Chatham Road Extension.—This work was referred to in paragraphs 176 (a.) of the Report for 1925 and 138 (a.) of that for last year. Negotiations with the Hong Kong Engineering and Construction Company, Ltd., to close the Contract with them were completed in February and the final payments made in March.
