(e.) Port Works.-These works were referred to in Annexe I. to the Report for last year.
Extensions were effected to the Tide Gauge installation at Kennedy Town. In connection with the proposed dredging scheme, borings were made over a portion of the harbour bed to ascertain the nature of the material. Certain expenses in respect of diving operations were met.

(b.) Wong Nei Chong Development,-site formation and road construction. This work was referred to in paragraph 123 (7.) of the Report for 1925 and in paragraph 114. (g.) of last year's Report.
The progress was slow, the delay being due to the difficulty experienced in the removal of the matshed permittees.
The work of making up the streets on the section East of the nullah was also delayed owing to houses of Chinese type being in course of erection, while the work on the road immediately to the East and parallel to the nullah was held up on account of the general development of the area.
