Inspector W. Old was in charge at Kennedy Town throughout the year.

Inspector F. Aslett was in charge at Ma Tau Kok throughout the year.

Inspectors Charity and Braley continued at Kennedy Town throughout the year.

Overseer Johannsen was in charge at Central and Western Markets.

## GENERAL STATISTICS

Although South China is still in a disturbed state, the following figures show a very considerable increase in the amount of work done. The resultant increase in revenue over 1926 is $32,236.10.

Cattle: The total number of cattle admitted to Depots during 1927 was 59,767 against 46,318 in 1926. In Ma Tau Kok 9,064 were admitted against 8,496 in 1926. The above are the only abattoirs at which cattle are slaughtered in the Colony.

Pigs: The total number of pigs admitted to Kennedy Town was 275,132 against 178,568 in 1926. This includes 23,995 admitted to Kennedy Town and afterwards transferred or exported. The total admitted at Ma Tau Kok was 85,329.

Sheep and Goats: 24,922 was the total number admitted at Kennedy Town against 22,689 in 1926. As is the case with pigs, this includes 12,133 admitted to Kennedy Town and afterwards transferred or exported.
