126. New Workshop and Plant. This work was referred to in paragraph 142 of last year's Report.

No further improvements were made to the Workshop during the year.

The Agents ordered the following machines from the Crown:

One Polishing and Grinding Head,

One high-speed Shaping Machine—length, width, and depth of table: 20" x 13" x 14".

Four standard Engineer's Surface Plates.

The four standard Surface Plates were received and are in use. The other machines had not been received by the end of the year.

No work was done under this scheme as the development in the district did not justify any extension to the existing system.

129. New Principal Water Mains in the City of Victoria.—This work was referred to in paragraph 140 of last year's Report.

The laying of larger diameter trunk mains through the City was continued during the year as follows:

2,500 feet of 15″ C.I. main were laid in Queen's Road between Pottinger Street and Garden Road.

950 feet of 18″ C.I. main were laid from Kennedy Road via Monmouth Path to Arsenal Street.

300 feet of 6" main were laid up D'Aguilar Street from Queen's Road to Wellington Street.
