108. Magistracy,-New Cells.-This work was referred to in paragraph 114 of last year's Report. It consisted of the demolition of the old and unsatisfactory cells at the rear of the Central Police Station (old building), and the conversion of a portion of the ground floor of this building into a number of cells of various size. The alterations were commenced during the latter part of the year and completed by the end of December.

109. Government Civil Hospital, Extension to Sisters' Quarters. This work, referred to in paragraph 116 of last year's Report, was satisfactorily completed and the new building occupied by the Medical Department during February. The work to the bridge connecting the new to the old quarters was then begun and good progress made until its completion in June.

111. Bonham Road School. This work was referred to in paragraph 102 of last year's Report.
Satisfactory progress was made during the year and the School was partially occupied in June.
The building was completed and the furniture, with the exception of desks, provided by the end of July. The school was fully occupied, after the summer holidays, in September.
There was some delay in the delivery of new desks from home, the first consignment arriving before the end of December.
