154. Mataukok Slaughter House, Inspector's Quarters. This work, referred to in paragraphs 163 of the Report for 1923 and 162 of that for 1924, was satisfactorily completed by October.
At the request of the Head of the Sanitary Department, the Quarters were fitted with the water flush system.

155. Mongkoktsui New Market and Site.—The piling work alluded to in paragraph 163 of the Report for last year was erroneously stated as being connected with the New Market. In fact it concerned the extension to the old Market at Mongkok.
The site for the New Market, which is a distinct matter, was formed simultaneously with the filling in of the then existing Mongkok Village.
The work in question was executed by Messrs. Sang Lee & Co. at a cost of $4,200.50 as reported in 1924.

156. Cattle and Swine Depôt, Yaumati.—The existing pig lairage near the Yaumati Railway Station was extended as mentioned in paragraph 189 (e) of this report. The erection of the new Depôt was, therefore, postponed, and no expenditure under this heading was incurred.

157. Quarters for Scavenging Coolies at Yaumati.—This work was referred to in paragraph 164 of last year's Report, but it was not found possible to proceed with it which it is now suggested should be incorporated in the scheme of layout for the Kowloon Disinfecting Station; consequently there was no expenditure under this heading.
