1925 Estimates, 1925 Sup. Vote, $ 15,000.00 4,000.00 1925 Expenditure, $ 19,000.00 $14,527.62

P.W.E. KOWLOON,

153. Kowloon Hospital, Site Formation.—This work was referred to in paragraph 159 of last year's Report.

Cutting was carried out to a definite line on the site, which was reached by the end of November. The toe-wall of the South-Western approach road was completed and the road formed to give access to the Hospital.

Throughout the year, except for the period of industrial unrest, satisfactory progress was made. In February, the area of the site was extended to approximately 25 acres, with a boundary adjoining the main roads on two principal sides. This admits of two Entrance Drives giving direct access to the Hospital group from East and West and enabled the erection of the Mortuary in a more suitable position. An amendment was made to the plans of the latter building, increasing its size and providing separate accommodation for European and Chinese cases.

As the public sewer has not yet been extended along the main road, a small temporary Septic Tank was constructed to deal with the sewage from the Hospital.
