99. Cadets' Quarters, Canton.-This work was referred to in paragraph 97 of last year's Report.

Although it has not been possible to give as much supervision as was desirable to this work owing to its distant location, the standard of workmanship obtained has been constant and very excellent throughout. Between the months of January and August the work was carried out in an expeditious and workmanlike manner, and by the end of that period the structure was nearing completion.

Since August, however, no further progress has been made owing to the disturbed conditions prevailing in Canton.
