MUSKETRY

Owing to difficulty in obtaining a suitable range it was found impossible to hold the Musketry Course before January 1926.

REVOLVER

The Revolver Course was revised in April 1925 and was divided into two parts viz Preliminary Course and Advanced Course. The Advanced Course includes realistic practices such as "running man" and "disappearing man", such practices being made possible by mechanical devices now fitted on the Range. A police officer must pass the Preliminary Course before he is allowed to fire the Advanced Course.

The Strike interfered with revolver courses which were resumed in September 1925. In September 1925, 199 Europeans fired Preliminary Course (Possible Score 110 points), 158 qualified to fire advanced course (i.e. obtained 80 points and over), 23 obtained 60 points and under 80 and 18 failed to obtain 60 points.

In October 307 men of Wei Hai Wei Contingent fired Preliminary Course (Possible Score 110 points) 110 qualified to fire advanced course (i.e. obtained 60 points and over) 110 obtained 40 points and under 60, 87 failed to obtain 40 points.

In October 408 men of Cantonese contingent fired Preliminary Course (Possible Score 110 points) 46 qualified to fire advanced course (i.e. obtained 60 points and over) 109 obtained 40 points and under 60, 253 failed to obtain 40 points.
