-This road, from the Aberdeen Paper Mills for a length of 2,500 feet proceeding Eastwards, was widened to 30 feet.

23. Sexton's Quarters, Kowloon Cemetery.-This work was referred to in paragraph 241 of last year's Report.

A contract was let to Messrs. Wo Fat & Co., in November, 1923. By the end of the year, the work was completed and handed over to the Sanitary Department.

2 2 Police Married Quarters, Mongkok.—A contract for this work was let to Messrs. Tat Lee & Co., late in November, and the usual preliminaries begun but no actual work on the site commenced.

233. Laichikok Prison.-Four sheds of the upper terrace were rebuilt in brickwork with new tile-roofs on steel trusses, such as those already done on the lower terrace, and were finished by the end of the year.

Extensive additional fencing was found necessary and put in hand and will be continued in 1925.

234. Gascoigne and Nathan Roads, Kowloon,--Removal of the Hill to improve the junction.—Satisfactory progress was maintained throughout the year, about 66,000 cubic yards of earth and rock being removed.

The nature of the material to be excavated was such that it was found impossible to complete the work by the end of the year.

235. Pier at Blackhead's Point.--A hardwood pier 60 feet in length and projecting 30 feet from the Praya Wall, with two dolphins, was erected off the Government Coal Storage Depôt at Blackhead's Point for the Harbour Department, for facilitating the unloading of coal from steamers and junks.
