- R 7

The extra-postal correspondence mentioned in last year's report has been of much the same type. It included one request from a lady in Berlin to be supplied with one Chinese stamp (unused) of every denomination current for which she enclosed payment in the shape of a 1000 mark note, and an appeal from another lady in America calling on me to annihilate "broadcasting" in the Colony.

I wish once more to thank Mr. Picard Destelan, Co-Director of Posts, Pekin, and Messrs. E. Tollefsen, C. H. Shields, and F. B. Tolliday, Commissioners of the Chinese Postal Service, for their kind co-operation.

In conclusion I desire again to testify to the good work and enthusiasm of the Post Office Staff which alone have made possible the successful working of the Department during a record year.

17th March, 1924.

R. E. LINDSELL,

Postmaster General.
