In July, 1923, it was decided to extend the existing supply from the Golf Club Access Road to the houses in the vicinity of Fanling Village, for which a supplementary vote of $9,000 was granted. This extension involved the laying of 7,000 lin. feet of 3" W. I. pipe; the work was commenced in September and completed in December.
The 1923 Estimate of $7,500 was voted for an authorized extension to the Basto-Soares' land, but as no development took place in this district the extension was not carried out.

HONGKONG.
215. Conversion of certain houses on M. L. 381 for use as a Fire Station. This work was described in paragraph 198 of last year's Report. Messrs. Sang Lee & Co. executed the work under their Contract for Maintenance of Buildings, and the conversion was completed during the month of January.

216. Alterations to "Harbour View" as a Police Training School.—These alterations were described in paragraph 199 of last year's Report. The work was executed by Messrs. Sang Lee & Co. under the Maintenance of Buildings Contract and completed early in the year.
1923 Estimates, $12,000.66 1923 Expenditure, $12,000.66217. Vaccination Sheds at West Point.-This work was referred to in paragraph 202 of last year's Report. The erection of the sheds proceeded satisfactorily, and was completed during the month of March.
1923 Estimates, $5,842.36 1923 Expenditure, $5,842.36218. Conversion of Shed at Kennedy Town for Opium Factory. The buildings formerly used as a Sick Cattle Depôt were altered to provide accommodation for the Imports and Exports Department.
The work was commenced during June and completed by the end of September.
