Iron fencing was erected at Au Tau, Tsun Wan and Sai Kung Police Stations.

Ping Shan Police Station,---improvements to well.

Waglan Lighthouse, construction of steel sounding board for Diaphone House.

Shamshuipo, conversion of two Chinese houses into Branch Police Station (Tai Nan Street).

Cheung Chau,--erection of a matshed School with latrine accommodation in brickwork.

Borings, prickings and survey of sea-bed at the site East of Water-boat Dock, Laichikok.

Cheung Chau Pier,--it was found necessary to carry out dredging operations around, and to a point 50 yards seawards of the pier, to obtain the former depth of water. About 1,770 cubic yards of material was removed.

Approach Road to Ping Shan Land Court.—This road was macadamized and tar painted.

209. Compensation and Resumptions. This vote provided for the resumption of properties required in connection with development schemes, &c.

210. Extension of Kowloon Catchwater.—A Contract was let to the Hongkong Engineering and Construction Company on the 9th February for $170,420.65.

By the end of the year, a length of 2,000 feet of catch water was completed to overflow level, with the exception of the over-flows, and a further length of 2,000 feet was completely excavated, whilst another length of 4,000 feet was excavated to footpath level.
