Those who attended on more than one occasion are included in this total as well as 6,871 persons who attended to be vaccinated and 190 others who were examined as to their physical fitness for Government Service. The total cases treated were made up as follows:---

Nationalities were represented as follows:- Europeans 1,937, Chinese 20,963, Indians 1,235 Others 743. The sexes were Males 14,838, Females 10,058. These figures do not include the vaccinations as owing to pressure of work it was not possible to record their nationality or sex.

The Police. The various stations in Kowloon and the New Territories were regularly visited. Prophylactic quinine parades were held from April till the end of the year and other anti-malarial measures adopted. The drafts from Wei Hai Wei who replaced the Indians in the New Territories during the summer, suffered a good deal from malaria. A table is appended showing the seasonal influence and the stations most affected by the disease.

Kowloon Canton Railway- The health of the staff has been good. First aid lectures have been given as in former years. The theoretical part is taught by the Medical Officer in charge and Mr. Winyard attends to the practical instruction in stretcher drill and bandaging. A Railway Brigade of the St. John Ambulance Corps has been formed this year with the Medical Officer in charge as Divisional Surgeon and Mr. Winyard as Secretary and Sergeant. The men show great keenness and proficiency in the work. Four persons were killed on the line, three being knocked down by trains while trespassing on the line and one jumping from a train in motion.

The Lok Oi Hospital, Un Long. The Dresser in charge treated 2,195 cases as compared with 2,253 last year.
