The Lunatic Asylum:- The Medical officers of the Civil Hospital were in charge of the Asylum also. Some figures may be tabulated in comparison with 1922.

I would call serious attention to the increased number of patients admitted and the increased use which has been made of our "safety valve" the John G. Kerr Hospital. Should anything interfere with the reception there of our patients a very short period would suffice to render our present accommodation quite useless. I trust that the building of the new asylum in Lai-chi-kok will for this, among many other reasons, be expedited. The following tables show the number of patients treated, their nationality, etc.
