145. Reclamation at Tai O.—This item was included in calling for tenders for the Tai O Market but, as the tenders received were abnormally high, it was decided to postpone the work for the time being.

146. Tai O Police Station—Boathouse and Slipway.—As it was impossible to land at the old pier at low water, a new pier, 150 feet long, has been constructed to the westward of the station in such a position as to afford a depth of 3' 6" of water at the lowest tide. The pier is provided with davits for hoisting and lowering the Police boat. The work was carried out under the Annual Contract for the execution of maintenance and minor works. The boathouse and slipway were not proceeded with.

148. Miscellaneous Works.—The following are the principal items of expenditure under this heading, representing in some cases only a part of the cost of the works in consequence of their extending over more than one year :--
