I therefore hope that against this background, Members will support my motion. If it is carried, the idea will be further actively examined to allow commercial organizations to place advertisements on suitable locations of the Council's venues as well as in our existing publicity materials and publications, so as to increase our revenue. Opportunity will also be taken to promote the Council's activities.
It is a world of advertisements today. If the motion is carried, I am sure financial gains will be secured through advertisements. Lastly, I hope Members will give their best views in support of the motion.

(3)(b) MR. DANIEL TO BOON-MAN moved amendments to the motion under Standing Order 21(12A) as follows:—
According to the Council's image and the specifications of each venue, RESOLVED that the Council formulate a policy to identify suitable places for commercial organizations to put up advertisements, including inner and outer walls and other places of the Council's venues and various promotional materials of the Council, in order to increase the revenue of the Council.
He said (in Cantonese)—Mr. Chairman, I wish first of all to commend the good spirit of Mr. Chiang's original motion. If the wording and main contents were clearer, particularly if the part concerning policy formulation was more specific, a lot of problems would be avoided in future implementation. For example, as pointed out in the amended motion, if no specific method was provided for by a policy formulated by the Council and if there was no identification of suitable places, it would probably run contrary to the original spirit.
In fact, the issue has been discussed time and again in the past and superficially the Department has not indicated any strong objection. Further examination therefore would only be a waste of time. The foremost task is to have the idea implemented through a policy. However, the original motion has not specified clearly the aspect of policy formulation. I therefore have to point
