(2) Ms. GRACE AU YUK-HAR, Vice-Chairman of the Recreation Select Committee, moved as follows:-

'RESOLVED that the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance (Public Pleasure Grounds) (Amendment of Fourth Schedule) (No. 2) Order 1997 be made under section 106 of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Chapter 132,'

She said (in Cantonese):—Mr. Chairman, I rise as Vice-Chairman of the Recreation Select Committee on the motion standing in my name:

RESOLVED that the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance (Public Pleasure Grounds) (Amendment of Fourth Schedule) (No. 2) Order 1997 be made under section 106 of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Chapter 132.

The purpose of the Order is to amend the Fourth Schedule of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Chapter 132 to delete six existing public pleasure grounds viz: Jordan Road Ferry Concourse Amenity Plot, Shun Ning Road Temporary Sitting-out Area, Shun Lee Tsuen Road Playground, Hang On Street Garden, Wong Nai Chung Road Indoor Games Hall and Wong Nai Chung Road Children's Playground.

Mr. Chairman, I so move.

Mr. Joseph Chan Yuek-SUT (in Cantonese);—Mr. Chairman, I second the motion.

The question was put.

The motion was carried unanimously.

(3) MR. Wong Kwok-hing moved as follows:-

'Since E-coli bacteria was found for the first time in retail minced beef in Hong Kong, RESOLVED that the Council urge the Urban Services Department, in collaboration with the Department of Health and other departments concerned, to further improve comprehensively, in respect of fresh meat and frozen meat, various steps on the import, slaughter of livestock, transportation, wholesale, retail and storage; to monitor and take law enforcement actions on the processing and sale of food in food premises and food processing factories; to adopt concrete and effective measures to prevent the spread of disease; to step up speedily hygiene inspection and food sampling tests; and to enhance hygiene education for people engaged in the food business, especially food hygiene education for citizens. Moreover, the Urban Services Department should promptly report to the Council on the implementation and progress of these further improvement measures.'
