BRITISH REPRESENTATION AT MAIN CHINESE PORTS
M)
J.P.(45) 220 (Final) (in Dept) FY022
FE
THE COMMITTEE had before them a reart by the Join Planning Staff on the question of ports in China to which British forces might be sent to represent our interests.
2014
SIR ANDREW CUNNINGHAM said that our interests at Tientsin were somewhat greater than had been brought out in the paper, and could not be fully watched by naval forces alone.
He agreed however, that we could not very well send any land forces unless the Americans did.
