Following from General Hayes G.0.0. British Troops in China. At Go-ordinating Committee Mooting held this morning following is text of Chinese request.

Chinese request agreement on following points before repoat before the surrondor.

(a) Hong Kong surrendor to take place on 5th or 6th

September and so to follow China Theatre surrender now set for 4th or 5th. Chinese have no objection whatever to floot arriving before that dato landing troops disarming Japanese setting up civil administration and in fact whatever it likes except formal signing of surrender instrument.

(b) Copies of all military information received from

They Japanese are to be handed over to Chinese. suggest that information required (? most likely) contained in general order number 01 issued by Generalissimo and based entirely on similar order by MacArthur. I do not propose to signal details of requirements since information required appoars to follow normal (lines) in such cases.

(a) Fooilities for embarking of Chinese troops at Hong Kong for rodoplaymont in connexion with occupying Japon Formosa otc:

(a) All Japanese ships captured in Hong Kong to be handed
