Your 5272 August 22nd.
Have had interview with General MacArthur who says that situation with regard to Admiral Mountbatten now entirely cleared up as a rosult of your action.
2. Gonoralissimo has agreed to the British accepting surrender of Hong Kong. Admiral Fraser has been informed and has nominated Admiral Harcourt to accept surrender at any time after main surrender has boon signed at Tokyo. Representatives of China and America will bo prosent at surrender ceremony at Hong Kong.
3. Propose to move to Tokyo arriving August 29th but am very hampered by not having an aircraft, which also seriously restricts liaison with S.E.A.C. Is it possible to got part of British Embassy at Tokyo allotted to me.
