concerning the
arrangements for the return of staff of
the
National City Bank to Hong Kong, and Chase National Bank
to inform you that, as has been explained
at the meeting with the Hong Kong Planning
Unit to which you refer, it is intended
to permit the re-entry of Banks
previously established in the Colony as
soon as circumstances permit, without
regard to the nationality of the Banks.
In view of the uncertainty of the
position it is impossible to say when
this will be, but it is suggested that
the best course would be for the
representatives of your Bank to go to
