RAILWAY COMPANY WORKSHOP AND HIP TUNG WO.
REMOVAL OF PLANT AND MATERIALS.
List of important machinery in the Railway Workshops in Hung Hom, and the Hip Tung Wo Manufactory at To Kwa Wan which could be removed and shipped within 48 hours during an emergency.
The machines from the Railway Workshops would be loaded into 30-ton flat wagons and sent direct to the Kowloon Docks while those from the Hip Tung Wo Manufactory would be placed in lighters alongside the works at To Kwa Wan (one lighter sufficient).
Mr. J. Smith, the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Kowloon Canton Railway, would supervise both operations and would undertake the destruction of other machines and materials which he could not remove to the island in his capacity as Officer Commanding No.1 Company, Hong Kong Engineering Corps.
