DETAILED RULES RELATING TO ENFORCEMENT OF
REGULATIONS GOVERNING APPLICATIONS FOR PURCHASE OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE BY IMPORTERS.
CHUNGKING, Feb. 15.-- The Ministry of Finance has announced
a set of Detailed Rules relating to Enforcement of the Regula-
tions governing Applications for Purchase of Foreign Exchange by Importers (Chi-Kow Wu-Pin Shun-Ching Kou-Mai Wai-Hui Kuei-Tse
Shih-Hsing Hsi-Tse).
A translation of the Rules follows:-
ARTICLE 1. Besides conforming to the Regulations govern-
ing Applications for Purchase of Foreign Exchange by Importers,
importers wishing to apply for purchase of foreign exchange
should also conform to these Detailed Rules.
ARTICLE 2.-- Applicants should apply to the Foreign
Exchange Examination Committee (Wai Hui Shen-Ho Wei-Yuan-Hui
or the banks for application forms, acknowledgment forms and
blank forms of import certificates.
ARTICLE 3.
Applications should be made out in triplicate,
together with a blank acknowledgment form which will be returned
(to the applicant). They should be filled out by the applicant
in Chinese or in both Chinese and English.
Together with supporting documents, the applications should
be forwarded to the Foreign Exchange Examination Committee for
examination and approval. They may also be forwarded to the
local banks for transmission (to the Committee).
Applicants should compute the amount of their foreign
exchange, in their applications, in accordance with Article 4 of
the Regulations governing Applications for Purchase of Foreign
Exchange by Importers.
Legal tender notes equivalent to the value of the amount of
foreign exchange to be purchased should be handed over to the
Bank.
