course of education or that the circmstances of his residence in the Colony are otherwise such so to show that he is residing there for a temporary purpose only.
3.- (1) This Ordinance shall not apply to any of the following persons:-
(a) members of His Majesty's regular or reserve forces, other than army reservists who have been granted permission under, the King's
paragraph 470 of / horulations for the Army and the Army Reserve
members
force and

to reside permenently outside the United Kingdom;
(b) members of the Hong Kong Volunteer efence Corps or the Hong Fong Noval Volunteer Force;
(c) civilians in the employment of the nuval, military or air force authorities;
(A) mon in holy orders and Juch egular ministers of recognized religious denominations ng the Governor in Council may exempt;
(e) hon who have left or been discharged from the neval, military or air service of the Crown in consequence of disablement or ill-health;
(f) any person whạ lɛ, under the provisions of any Act in force in a Dominion, a national or citizen of that Dominion within the meaning of that act, or who is a person born or domiciled in a Dominion. if in either chɛe he has been ordinarily resident in this colony for less than two years;
(c) the Chief Justice, the isne Judge, members of the Executive or Legislative Councils end the United Kingdom and Dominion Trade Commi:sionors;

In the application or this ordinance

shall have effect, namely, that the inquiry shall be held by the Governor and not by the Compulsory service tribunal, end that the Covernor may, upon such inquiry as he thinks fit, decide that any civil servant of or over the age of eighteen years, who has not attained the age of ffty-five years, shall be enrolled in such group of the reserve es the Lovernor may direct: There shall be no gupeal from a cecision of the Governor under buds section.
