MAJAP wrote me the other day asking me to approach General ANDO with a view to getting totally disabled Chinese soldiers now interned in Hong Kong released. After the failure of unofficial attempts through local channels, official attempts were made in April through diplomatic channels to get Japanese sanction, but these have so far not even received a reply from the Japanese
Foreign Office. I don't suppose my efforts will have
any better success.
