Japanese military operations near Hong Kong frontier. (1831/17) of 17th July referring to his telegram of
Copy telegram from Captain on Staff H.M.S. "Tamar" 16th August (F 9087/1696/10).Japanese troops have been reported at various points along frontier and have reached its eastern end. There has been little firing, no bombing and no incidents; Object of operations is probably to close communications China. British gunboats have been stationed in Deep Bay and Mirs Bay to preserve integrity of Hong Kong territorial waters.
