Copy telegram from General Officer Commanding Hong Kong No. 5370 of 15th August. Japanese Consul-General Canton informed British Consul-General on 14th August that Japanese were undertaking operations near Hong Kong frontier. These operations are probably designed to deal with guerillas and possibly those engaged in bringing food to the colony.
