It offers considerable advantages; cover for the aerodromes used by the Allies, greater depth and width for the defence of Salonika, a better util- isation of the Greek dis- positions (Concentrations, fortifications and the defence of Greek territory as a whole), and more favourable climatic con- ditions.

(b) The French have given us details of the peace dispositions and

mobilisɛ tion plan of the Greek Army, These will be handed to the War Office,

4. Allied Military Forces available.

(a) French 4 divs. (3 from Syria and 1 from N.Africa or France) (b) Greek 18 divs. in all. There is no reason to suppose that the whole 18 will not be available for operations at Salonika, provided always Italian neutral- ity is assured. Nevertheless, the French accept as the worst hypothesis the figure of 10 (J) (40)13. divisions given in Paper No. M.R.

(c) The French Representatives

believe that Yugo-Slavia will resist any attack upon her terri- tory, and that she can place at least 24 divisions in the field. Under the most unfavourable assumptions, she will have at any rate a quarter of this total
