Paragraph 37.

Strength of land forces.

Hong Kong. Six battalions, blus one battalion. (Chinese) in process of formation.

Malaya, Equivalent of 10 brigade groups. Burma. Five infantry brigades.

Australia. Australian Imperial Forces:-

one

Australian

infantry brigade group, plus one armoured division and one army tank brigade in process of formation. Military Forces:- 2 cavalry divisions, 4 infantry divisions and 3 mixed brigades.

New Zealand

New Zealand. New Zealand Expeditionary Force:- one army tank brigade in process of formation. Home Defence Force:- strength 45,000.

Other Garrisons. Australian:- one battalion at Rabaul. Detachments at Port Moresby (Papua), Ocean Island, Nauru, Norfolk Island, New Caledonia, Ambon and Koepang, New Zealand: - one brigade group at Suva (Fiji), and detachments at Fanning Island and Tonga.
