Colonel Mulcahy has given valuable information and assistance to our Air Attache at Dublin, which has been of the greatest value in preparing our plans for using Irish aerodromes

He has in the event of our having to move our units south. also undertaken to ask for the construction of aerodromes in the Wexford and Cork sectors where they will be badly needed.

3.

Although it is not possible to make available for Eire the types and numbers of aircraft requested by the High Commissioner, we find that we can, without any supply or operational disadvantages to ourselves, offer them 10 Hector type aircraft and dual conversion sets to enable four of them to be used for instructional purposes.

4.

In view of the assistance we have already obtained from Colonel Mulcahy, and the advantages to be gained by fostering this useful contact, it is strongly recommended that authority be given in these special circumstances to authorise the supply of 10 Hector aircraft and four dual control conversion sets to Eire.

Air Ministry,

24TH JANUARY, 1941.
