In the course of the preparation of Paper No. C.O.S. (40) 440 (J.P.) on the 9th June, discussion turned on the presentation of our case to the Americans in the event of a French collapse.
2.
We have prepared a short draft aide memoire to assist Lord Lothian in presenting to the American Government the facts of the military situation in which we should be placed in the event of a French collapse.
