THE RACECOURSE BETTING BILL.

6. A short discussion took place in regard
to the Racecourse Betting Bill, and the Cabinet
•
were informed that proposals had been made for
referring it to a Select Committee, and that the
Leader of the Labour Party in the House of
Commons had suggested that the Speaker should
rule the further stages out of order. The
Speaker was to give his decision the same day.
The Cabinet agreed
That the question should be discus sed between the Prime Minister, the
Chancellor of the Exchequer and
the Home Secretary on the following morning after the Speaker had given his ruling as to whether the further stages of the Bill were in order.
